About Corpse Party: Book of Shadows

An anthology of short stories set before, during, and after the first Corpse Party – in the canon universe, as well as in several Wrong End timelines – Corpse Party: Book of Shadows takes players through a series of events in which students, teachers, and associated family and friends from Kisaragi Academy, Byakudan Senior High, Paulownia High, and Musashigawa Middle School succumb to the curse of Heavenly Host Elementary in new and unique ways. These events include numerous what-if scenarios where characters make different choices than they did in Corpse Party, resulting in a deeper understanding of who they are and how they think. As the game’s terror-inducing story reaches its final chapter, players will also learn more about the mysterious tome known as the “Book of Shadows,” which may be the linchpin behind everything that’s happened thus far and all the horror still to come. It becomes more essential than ever that the characters be kept safe during these adventures, too: as their fears rise, they become more unstable, causing their view of the world around them and the choices they make to become distorted and disturbed through the newly introduced “Darkening” system. All of this is added on top of gripping first-person point-and-click style gameplay that pairs with the series’ trademark 3D binaural audio to help bring players directly into the action like never before.
