XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today released the final two English character introduction videos for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-. Highlighting characters from the Special Defense Unit—a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days—the trailer continues the global “100 Days to Launch” campaign filled with announcements, videos, and more, shared each day until the game’s release on April 24, 2025 on Nintendo Switch™ system and Windows PC via Steam.
From the twisted minds of Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape series), The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- features adventure and tactical RPG elements presented through a chilling, tense storyline which leads players to multiple possible despair-filled endings. The character-focused video series continues with the introduction of the remaining members of the Special Defense Force.
Special Defense Unit | Newly Introduced Characters
Yugamu Omokage / “Teenage Assassin” – A striking young man who’s been in the business of killing since long before the war started. Unlike the rest of his family (who are also assassins, by the way), Yugamu believes that killing should be done with love. He enjoys torture, dissection, and other grotesque activities.
Kyoshika Magadori / “Ninja Samurai” – A young samurai who’s utterly clueless about the modern world. Has never even heard of multiplication tables, let alone learned them. She has an unsettlingly close relationship with her katana, the Holy Jumonji Sword.
Gaku Maruko / “Self-Ccentered Mood Maker” – A guy who’s true to his personal desires (to put it delicately). He’s a coward and always looking out for himself. However, there’s something so refreshingly honest about his pettiness that it’s hard to hate him.
Gaku’s also good at taking care of other people once he opens his heart to them.
Tsubasa Kawana / “Star Mechanic” – A young woman who knows a lot about machines and what makes them tick. She had a bright, lively personality, but isn’t good with stressful situations. When she gets nervous, she gets nauseous, and then…
Hiruko Shizuhara / “Ice Queen” – Leader of the Special Defense Unit. A cold, almost heartless beauty, she always says what’s on her mind, even if it means offending others. She’s just as merciless on the battlefield, where she gets a twisted sense of pleasure from tearing invaders apart.
Sirei / Special Defense Unit’s Commanding Officer– The principal and commanding officer of Last Defense Academy. To put it another way, a weird little robot that orders the members of the Special Defense Unit Around. Under his command, Takumi and the others will be working to wipe out the mysterious invaders.

Takemaru Yakushiji / “Gangster with a Heart of Gold” – An old-school delinquent who lives to ride and rides to live. Despite his rough-and-ready demeanor, Takemaru’s really a nice guy on the inside.
Impulsive, straightforward, and honorable to a fault, he’s sworn to never use his strength to bully the weak.
Shoma Ginzaki / “Waste of Space” – A young man who, by his own admission, has absolutely nothing going for him. On a scale of one to ten, his self-esteem’s at negative five. He’s constantly putting himself down.
Nozomi Kirifuji / “Healer” – A high schooler who combines a kindhearted nature with dogged determination in battle. She’s very passionate about the Special Defense Unit’s mission but also seems to be hiding something. For some reason, Nozomi is identical in appearance to Takumi’s childhood friend Karua.
Moko Mojiro / “Cheerful and Lively Super Wrestler” – A young woman who is blowing up on the high school pro wrestling scene. Her courage and boundless energy are a source of inspiration for the entire Special Defense Unit. Whenever she has a problem, she faces it head on. She didn’t choose the wrasslin’ life – it chose her.
Nigou / Special Defense Unit’s Deputy Commander – Sirei’s assistant and second in command. An odd little robot that has a gentle, caring personality, but is also prone to making careless mistakes. He’s completely loyal and subservient to Sirei.

Developed by TooKyo Games Inc. and Media.Vision Inc. and to be published physically and digitally on the Nintendo Switch™ in the Americas by XSEED Games, The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- will release on April 24, 2025. Physical purchasers can choose between a Standard Edition available for an MSRP of $59.99 and a limited edition available for an MSRP of $99.99. The limited edition includes a copy of the game on Nintendo Switch™, an art book featuring work from fan-favorite artists Rui Komatsuzaki and simadoriru, a CD soundtrack with 10 songs from the game’s original score, an acrylic diorama featuring the main cast, a metal Last Defense Academy pin, a lenticular art card, a printed copy of an original The Hundred Line short novel, and 15 character art cards.
